today is one of those cold so.cal. days. thankfully it isn't so cold we have to shovel our way to the mailbox. it's just a jacket and scarf cold. but it's a perfect day to start my  after christmas organizing and begin the year fresh goal planning. it's a start a fire and hot cocoa day. hope you have cozy plans today.

 this street is so fun with all the colorful lights above, we love to drive around and check out all the xmas displays. this is turned into one of our family tradition. what are your favorite traditions?

our family had a wonderful holiday playing, laughing, eating and visiting with our loved ones. i love this time of year. december has been a great month and i hope that it is a sign of what is to come. i wish a happy holiday season is had by all. let's get ready for 2011 cause i have a feeling, it is gonna be a happy one!

our days are super rainy this week so we are putting the finishing touches on our holiday decorations! they worked and created for quite awhile and now we have beautiful snowflakes gracing our walls and windows.

he made a gingerbread house. what a beautiful set up they made for his class. much fun was had, even the parents were getting creative!

for most of the week we enjoyed this. the bluest of skies and the warmest colors drifting down from the trees to blanket the grass, sidewalks and streets. what fun we had in these leaves!

this week i adore that:

• he wakes up in the morning, wants to sit by the fire and sip cool tea with me.
• she notices the unfair killing of innocent animals and wants to save all of then so passionately.
• when he finds a sharp pencil he instantly looks for a pad of paper to draw on.
• there were beautiful birthdays 
• there will be gift exchanges and gingerbread house creating.

we love the smell of pine trees. wonder which one is the perfect tree? for us, picking a christmas tree is unusually hard. sometimes we visit several lots. why is it so hard? they are all green, they all smell the same, and they all pretty much look the same! i know, it's weird. but for a tree to join us for the holidays, it almost has to call out to us. for us it has to be the perfect charlie brown xmas tree...

happy december! i don't think that November has ever gone by so fast. today she plays the flute with such grace. this is her first year and she plays like she has played many many times before.
