project restyle - diy

i restyled a cute jean skirt my daughter grew out of, turned it into a purse.
it was totally easy and fun. the result is super cute too!

i decided how big i wanted the purse and then cut the extra off  the bottom as straight as i could. i used the scraps for the strap and embellishments.

next i turned the skirt inside out and tried to sew a straight line to close the bottom.

added the strap.

used a messy hand stitch near the edge of the scrap strip, then gathered it up to make a flower.

I glued the flowers down and added vintage buttons to the middle.
the middle flower was from my sons shorts that just happen to tear while i was making the purse, funny coincidence. for the final touch i grabbed a ribbon belt from an old sweater that i had in my closet.

cute, cute. what have you restyled lately?
